My name is Ty Strickland. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and now live and work in Florence, Italy. My work is centered on storytelling — whether through portraits, landscapes, or other subjects that capture a specific moment in time.

Living in Florence has deepened my appreciation for classical painting traditions, while my Texas roots continue to influence the mood and individuality within my work. I’m drawn to subjects that feel lived-in and emotionally present. Every painting begins with a question: what is the story here?

Through oil paint, I aim to create images that feel timeless yet personal — works that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and find their own narrative within the scene.
